Affiliate Disclosure

📢 In short: jpmono.com participates in affiliate advertising programs — primarily the Amazon Associates Program (Japan) via Amazon JP Global Store. When you click a product link and complete a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This page explains how that works and how it shapes — and does not shape — our editorial choices.

Amazon Associates disclosure

jpmono.com is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program (Japan), an affiliate advertising program operated by Amazon Japan G.K. designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.co.jp. Most product links on this site route through Amazon JP Global Store, which offers international shipping to many countries.

As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

Amazon, Amazon.co.jp, and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. Product images on this site that are sourced from Amazon are used in accordance with the Associates Program Operating Agreement. Prices and availability are accurate as of the time the article was written and may change; USD figures shown alongside JPY prices are approximate, based on currency rates at the time of writing, and are intended as a rough guide rather than a live quote. Always verify the current price on Amazon JP before completing a purchase.

Note on US affiliate programs

Earlier versions of this site referenced the Amazon US Associates Program and the eBay Partner Network. As of May 2026, those references have been retired: jpmono.com now focuses on Japanese crafts available through Amazon JP Global Store, and we do not currently participate in the eBay Partner Network. Some older articles may still contain references to those programs while the editorial backlog is being updated; if you encounter one, please flag it via the About page.

FTC compliance

This disclosure is provided in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255). Every article on jpmono.com that contains affiliate links also displays an in-article disclosure banner near the top of the post, in addition to this site-wide page.

How affiliate revenue affects our editorial choices

What we do:

  • Recommend craft pieces based on maker documentation, regional craft-association sources, aggregated Japanese-language reviews, and current Amazon JP listings.
  • State strengths and weaknesses for every piece we cover — including fragility, maintenance demands, and shipping considerations that international buyers should know in advance.
  • Tell readers when a piece is not the right fit for them, even if that means losing a potential commission — for instance, recommending a glass tumbler over a tin one when the buyer’s use case argues against tin.
  • Distinguish between JPY (the primary, authoritative price) and approximate USD (estimate at time of writing), and mark when live pricing was unavailable.
  • Refuse to fabricate ASINs, image URLs, or specifications when we cannot independently verify them.

What we do not do:

  • We do not write first-person experiential reviews (“I drank sake from this cup every evening for a month…”) for pieces we have not personally used. Most coverage is curation and synthesis from Japanese-language sources, framed accordingly.
  • We do not accept payment, free pieces, or sponsored content from makers or retailers in exchange for favorable placement.
  • We do not artificially rank makers higher because their commission structure is more favorable.
  • We do not produce “best of” rankings without explaining the criteria — region, price band, use case — used to rank.

Currency and price-accuracy caveat

Prices on this site are denominated in Japanese yen (¥). USD figures shown alongside JPY are approximate and computed at the time the article was written, typically using a ¥150/USD baseline as of mid-2026. Live exchange rates fluctuate; the USD figure is intended to give an international reader a rough sense of magnitude, not a precise quote. Always check the current Amazon JP price (and your card’s foreign-transaction handling) before purchasing.

International shipping, customs, and duties

Most pieces covered on jpmono.com are sold on Amazon JP Global Store, which handles international shipping to many countries. Shipping fees, import duties, and customs handling are determined by Amazon JP and the destination country’s customs authority — not by us. We try to flag obvious cases (e.g., low-value items below typical de minimis thresholds, or heavy items where shipping cost is non-trivial), but the authoritative figure for any specific order is what Amazon JP shows at checkout for your destination address.

Cookies

Some affiliate links place a tracking cookie in your browser when clicked, so the merchant can attribute a subsequent purchase back to this site. These cookies are set by Amazon (and any other affiliate program in use), not by us, and are governed by the merchant’s own privacy policy. You can control cookie behavior through your browser’s settings.

Questions or corrections
